The pursuit of loneliness: how I chose a life of solitude | Society | The Guardian

I live a life of solitude. Mine didn’t start willingly though, it was forced on me by my mental health issues (specifically social phobia and anxiety) when I was about 12/13, since then I’ve lived pretty solitary from most people. It was pretty hard at that young age to understand what was going on, but I just got used to it, now it’s like second nature. Solitude has it’s benefits.
